When W/B Bennie Steingold went to Beit Issie Shapiro during the day, on Wednesday 24 November, to make preparation for the
talk, he was horrified to find that Beit Issie Shapiro was holding a bazaar and that the hall that Lodge Moledet has booked
had been turned into a store room. There was no way at all that he could reach the Lodge's furniture and effects. Fortunately
tonight there was no need for the furnishings, as Dr Len Stein would be addressing the Lodge. However, the use of the hall
was absolutely out of the question.
He and W/B Ivan Waldman quickly turned the next-door dining room into a suitable hall for the talk.
The refreshments were set up on a table outside the dining room in order to make room for the audience. Thirty-one people
were present, and we were treated to Len's most interesting talk. His easy going bedside manner had everyone at ease and he
proceeded to recount the long hard work that went into writing the book, The Murder Said Shalom.
