- Morrie Sacks of Moss-Morris Inc retires after practising for 41 years

Morrie Sacks

Born in 1925 in Dewetsdorp, Morrie Sacks commenced his tertiary academic career in 1943 at the University College of the Orange Free State as a medical student. In 1944 he changed to the University of the Witwatersrand where he studied dentistry for two years. Unfortunately, due to his father’s illness, he had to return to his hometown to manage the family farm and it was while farming that he decided that law would be a better prospect than dentistry. As soon as circumstances permitted, he commenced his legal studies and was admitted as an attorney in 1957. Mr Sacks practised for his own account for many years and in 1982 joined I Mendelow Browde Fluxman where he became a partner in 1985. The firm ultimately became part of Moss-Morris Inc where Mr Sacks remained a partner, although for the last two years he devoted his time to the task of being office manager. Mr Sacks, now retired, has emigrated to Israel and will be living with one of his daughters.
