H.O.D. 100 & 25 Year Celebration Dinner.

In July, the H.O.D. Centre in Gardens, Johannesburg, was the venue of the 100 Years Celebration of the Hebrew Order of David International. Many Worthy Brethren, Brethren, and their partners, gathered to pay tribute to the Order.

On Saturday night, 9 th.October, it was the turn of the Worthy Brethren and Brethren in Israel, to celebrate, not only 100 Years of H.O.D., but also the fact that the Order is now over 25 years in Israel. About one hundred and ten people were present to enjoy a sumptuous meal, and fraternize with friends they had not seen for ages. Worthy Brethren and Brethren from all three Israeli Lodges attended, but the Worthy Brethren and Brethren of Lodge Moledet No. 44 were particularly proud to be the Mother Lodge and to have the Consecrating President, Worthy Brother Archie Poliak and his wife, Edith , present.

Lodge Moledet made good use of the occasion to honour three people who have unselfishly given of their time to help others. Worthy Brother Benny Steingold, Immediate Past President, presented Certificates of Recognition to Mrs Gertrude Franco, Brother Gaby Haimowitz and Worthy Brother Ivan Waldman.

H.O.D. 100 & 25 YEAR COMMEMORATIVE PIN :

A specially minted lapel pin / badge has been produced , to commemorate the Centenary of the Hebrew Order of David International , and the 25 th . Anniversary of the Consecration of the first H.O.D. Lodge ( Lodge Moledet No. 44 ) , in Israel .

The pins / badges will be available to Worthy Brethren and Brethren , at our next Open Lodge Meeting , from Brother Aubrey Danziger , in exchange for a small donation of N.I.S. 20 – 00 ( or more , if you like ! ) .

MONEY MATTERS :

With our Lodge Financial Year fast drawing to a close , an urgent appeal is made to those few Worthy Brethren and Brethren who have not yet paid their Annual Subscriptions , to do so without any further delay .

Our Worthy Brother Morrie Sacks has just returned from a visit to his family in the U.S.A. While in Atlanta , he was able to make contact with Brother Barry Simon , the reigning President of Lodge Carmel.

Worthy Brother Morrie , and his family , were invited to attend a Lodge Carmel Chaverschaft Barbeque , and he was introduced to all the Worthy Brethren and Brethren present .

Fraternal greetings were exchanged , and Worthy Brother Morrie , and his family , were very well entertained . He will tell us more about his visit with the Worthy Brethren and Brethren of Lodge Carmel at our Open Lodge Meeting next week .
